The Praia do Salgado is na exceptional spot for paragliding and hang-gliding. To lift off choose the cliffs in front of the INATEL hang-gliding school. It is 124 meters high but when the winds are stronger you should choose a spot lower down. The lift off is WNW and landing on the beach near the parking lot. The distance between the two is a 2 km tarmacked road. This is a thermodynamic spot and can be quite turbulent in the summer. Take care, accidents happen due to overconfidence.
